VS6 Partnership Assembly Summary

Last year, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the VS6 Partnership hosted four virtual assembly events with the VCFSE sector; the aim was to understand the impact of the pandemic on the sector and how it has affected specific issues and vulnerable groups including:

For each assembly, a report was produced outlining priority actions and recommendations to support the sector to become increasingly resilient in the face of the crisis and to continue supporting our communities across the region.

Following on from our assemblies, the VS6 Partnership are now delighted to present our latest report: “Recommendations for Building Back Better with the VCFSE Sector”. This report summarises the key findings and recommendations from the four assemblies, in order to help provide a clear direction as to what is needed for the sector to continue to provide vital services, now and in the future.

The report also highlights the way in which VS6 engaged with the sector to produce the recommendations and action points, ensuring that all recommendations represent the collective vision of the VCFSE sector. In fact, this format of engaging with the sector has been so productive and well-received that, especially at a time when face-to-face engagement is not possible, we will be looking to expand this format to hold regular assembly events throughout 2021.

VS6 are committed to championing the role the sector plays in the Liverpool city region, and this summary report and associated recommendations will form the foundations for the VS6 manifesto for 2021-2024, as well as in our conversation with key stakeholders including the Combined Authority. Areas such as mental health, digital inclusion and volunteering are just some of the issues that have been consistently highlighted throughout the four assemblies, and we will endeavour to ensure the sector is heard to shape local policy for the benefit of our communities.

Please keep an eye out on our website and Twitter page for announcements of future assembly events, and for other announcements and news.

Thanks again to all those who attended and participated in our assemblies.
