VS6 secures National Lottery Funding for three years

VS6 partners are extremely pleased to announce that we have successfully applied for National Lottery Funding to expand and continue our work to shape how the Liverpool City Region collaborates with the VCFSE sector.

The funding awarded to VS6 through the National Lottery “Reaching Communities” Fund will support VS6 with the delivery of the ambitions within the LCR VCFSE Manifesto 2021-2024 to develop a fair, inclusive and community-led City Region, connecting the VCFSE deeper into policy making and service delivery at an LCR level.

The LCR VCFSE Manifesto, covering the next three years, was designed and developed in partnership with the Region’s VCFSE sector and sets out three thematic headline priorities:

  • A healthy VCFSE ecosystem

  • An economy that works for all

  • Championing our communities

Now with this investment from the National Lottery “Reaching Communities” Fund, we will continue to work with the VCFSE sector towards achieving the priorities within the manifesto. To accomplish this, we have developed a Manifesto Delivery Plan outlining the key actions and desired outcomes for achieving the ambitions for Year One of the manifesto (covering the remainder of 2021-22).

The funding will allow VS6 to continue to regularly connect, engage and work with the VCFSE sector across the City Region, following on from our successful assembly and consultation events held over the last 12-18 months, to gather crucial insights and intelligence to support the VCFSE sector’s manifesto delivery. VS6 will also work closely with the Combined Authority to develop the strategic partnerships and influence needed at an LCR level to achieve the ambitions for the LCR VCFSE sector and our communities.

Rev Canon Dr Ellen Loudon, Independent Chair of VS6 said:

“We are delighted to have been successful in applying for National Lottery Funding to enable VS6 to continue to carry out it’s important work in championing the VCFSE sector in the Liverpool City Region, and to proceed with full-force in implementing the LCR VCFSE Manifesto through the Manifesto Delivery Plan.

Since its formation, VS6 has been committed to providing a voice and platform for the VCFSE sector to shape local policy for the benefit of communities, and we look forward to building upon our achievements over the next three years.”

VS6 partners have been working to form the necessary connections to proceed with the Manifesto Delivery Plan for Year One and will be regularly reviewing the plan to ensure its realisation. We have summarised the Manifesto Delivery Plan pulling together all priorities and activity for Year One into one document which can be accessed here.
