VS6 holds weekly call with the Metro Mayor

As part of our commitment to increased communications between the VCFSE Sector in the Liverpool City Region and the Combined Authority, VS6 is now taking part in a weekly Covid-19 business call with the Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram. Our representative on this call will be Ellen Loudon as our independent Chair.

In today’s call we were pleased to brief the Mayor on current efforts across the region and activities of the VS6 partnership members. This included the mobilisation of over 5,000 volunteers through our partner organisations in the six boroughs so far.

Also mentioned were specific concerns around resilience in the sector and issues around young people and the challenges they and the organisations which support them are facing. We also issued the Mayor with a statement in support of the #BuildBackBetter campaign which he is leading on with the Mayor for Greater Manchester Andy Burnham. A copy of this statement can be found here.

Finally, we updated the Mayor on the different Covid Response groups and panels which members of the VS6 partnership are taking part in on behalf of the VCFSE sector. A list of these can be found here.

We look forward to future discussions with the Mayor and moving forward in a constructive and positive manner.
