Event: Kickstart scheme briefing for VCFSE employers
VOLA Consortium and the VS6 Partnership would like to invite all local Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector employers to an online briefing session about the Government’s new Kickstart job creation scheme.
We will be running 1 hour long (1 ¼ hrs max) Zoom meeting sessions on 3 occasions over the next couple of weeks, on different days and times to give people as much of a chance as possible to attend.

Tuesday 13th October, 11:30am – 12:45pm
Thursday 15th October, 2:30 – 3:45pm

Background and purpose of the sessions
VOLA is a member of the VS6 partnership, who have agreed for VOLA to act as the partnership’s lead body in coordinating a VCFSE sector option to the Kickstart scheme across the Liverpool City Region (LCR). We will work closely with our VS6 partners to raise awareness of Kickstart and facilitate access to the scheme for local VCFSE employers.
The aims of the online briefing sessions are to:
Raise awareness of the Kickstart scheme throughout the local sector.
Encourage local VCFSE employers to engage with the scheme and contribute to the sector doing its part in supporting young unemployed people (16-24) to get on in life, by taking them on through Kickstart-funded job placements and giving them a chance to prove themselves, whilst improving their employability skills and experience at the same time.
Promote our intent to act as an Intermediary Body, which involves coordinating access to national Kickstart funding for local VCFSE employers and supporting employability skills development of young people who secure jobs through the scheme. (Kickstart is managed by the DWP and an employer needs a minimum of 30 placements to be able to access the scheme directly, hence the need for Intermediaries such as VOLA.
Gauge potential appetite/ demand amongst local VCFSE employers to get involved in taking on young people through the scheme, in order to help us plan our role as an Intermediary Body.

VOLA is a 60 strong consortium VCFSE sector skills and employment support providers operating across the Liverpool City Region. We’ve been around for over 13 years now and have done some amazing work in supporting people to improve their skills, find work, move in to Further Education, and generally move onwards and upwards in life!
VS6 is a partnership of VCFSE sector infrastructure/support organisations working with the 8,600 VCFSE organisations and groups across the Liverpool City Region. Your local CVS, or similar body and a range of other support organisations including the Community Foundation, MYA, Network for Europe and Together Liverpool are members of VS6, along with VOLA.
