COVID-19 and Voluntary Sector Organisations’ Response: Barometer

Can you help build understanding of how the Voluntary Sector is being impacted by COVID-19?

Researchers from Nottingham Trent University, NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisations) and Sheffield Hallam University have secured funding from Economic and Social Research Council to conduct an investigation into the way that COVID-19 is impacting the sector and how organisations are responding.

The barometer focuses on how COVID-19 is impacting on the way organisations are run and on the paid staff and volunteers, rather than the financial impact, which other research has focused on.

The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector barometer will run for 15 months, from September 2020 to November 2021. Participants are being asked to complete a short survey (approximately 10-15 mins completion time) which will have standard questions each month and then a few questions on the specific situation occurring to provide insights as to how the sector has been affected over time.

The first round of the survey is due to launch on the 21st of September 2020; the link and further details will be available here.
